Fix Yo Yap

The yappers / One of five

The Trailer-Off

Starts the sentence. Loses interest in it around the third word.

The tell: “…anyway.”

What it does well

  • Nothing is rushed, so every word that survives is one you meant.
  • Silence makes a room lean in. Used on purpose it is the strongest thing in the kit.
  • Sounds considered rather than rehearsed.

What it costs

  • Dead air is the one thing an audience cannot do anything with.
  • A thought that trails off gets remembered as a thought you never had.
  • Low energy reads as low conviction, even when you are certain.

How the app spots it

A pace under the comfortable band and a long silence somewhere in the middle of a sentence. Often a flat pitch to go with it.

  • Talking speed
  • Dead air

A yapper is a label on a score, never part of it. The same round always names the same one, and a round that sits in the middle of every band names none.

Sixty seconds a day.
That’s the whole commitment.
