The yappers / One of five
The Restarter
Says it, hears it, does not like it, says it again.
The tell: “sorry, let me start that again.”
What it does well
- You are visibly thinking, and audiences trust that more than a polished take.
- Self-correcting means the version that survives is the accurate one.
- It sounds like a conversation instead of a recital.
What it costs
- 45 seconds is not long enough to draft out loud. The restarts eat the clock.
- The audience hears the crossed-out sentences too, and remembers the mess rather than the fix.
- Every restart arrives with a stumble or an “um” attached, and both are counted.
How the app spots it
A low finished-sentences score with stumbles and filler words to match. The same opening, twice.
- Finished sentences
- Stumbles
- Filler words
A yapper is a label on a score, never part of it. The same round always names the same one, and a round that sits in the middle of every band names none.
