FIX YOAP

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Fix Yo Yap records your voice to score how you speak. This page explains exactly what we record, where it goes, and how long we keep it.

1. Your microphone

Fix Yo Yap uses your microphone only while you are recording a round: from the moment you tap Start until the round ends, at most 45 seconds. It is never used in the background, and there is no listening outside a round. If you leave the app mid-recording, that take is discarded and never uploaded.

2. Your recordings

When a round finishes, the audio is uploaded to our private storage so it can be scored. Recordings are not public, are not shown to other users, and are not used for advertising. We do not sell your data.

3. The leaderboard

Fix Yo Yap has a leaderboard. If you have scored a round, your best score can be shown to other signed-in users on it, along with your display name and your profile picture. Your recordings, your transcripts and your individual rounds are never shown to anyone else, and nothing else from your profile appears.

You can turn your name off at any time in Settings. Your row then reads Anonymous Yapper with no picture, so your score is still on the board but nothing on it points at you. You can always see your own position either way.

4. How long we keep audio

On the free plan we delete your recording 7 days after the round. We keep it that long only so a failed transcription can be retried and so we can look into a score you think is wrong — nothing plays it back to you, and nothing else reads it.

On Premium we keep your recordings while your subscription is active, so you can play any round back from your history. If your subscription ends we delete them 30 days later. Deleting your account removes all of them immediately, on either plan.

What remains either way is the derived data: your score, the counts behind it, the transcript, and your streak. We keep it because that is what your history and personal bests are made of.

5. Who else processes your audio

To turn speech into text we send your recording to ElevenLabs (Scribe), our speech-recognition sub-processor, for the sole purpose of producing a transcript. The score itself is computed by our own service from that transcript. No AI model decides your number.

Our other processors are:

  • Supabase: accounts, database, and file storage
  • RevenueCat, with Apple or Google: subscriptions
  • PostHog: product analytics
  • Sentry: crash reports
  • Google AdMob: the optional ad in the app, described below
  • Vercel Analytics: aggregate traffic on this website

6. Ads in the app

If you run out of free rounds in the app you can choose to watch one short ad to unlock one more round. That is the only place an ad appears, nothing shows you one unless you tap the button, and Premium never shows ads. There are no ads on this website.

The ad is served by Google AdMob. We ask AdMob for non-personalised ads only, so it is not selected using a profile of your interests, and we never send it your recordings, your transcripts, your scores or your email. AdMob receives the technical data it needs to serve and measure an ad, which is described in Google’s own privacy policy.

7. Payments

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google. We never see or store your card details. We only receive whether your subscription is active.

8. Analytics

We record product events like a round started, a round scored, or a paywall seen, so we can tell whether Fix Yo Yap is working. They are tied to your account id, not to the content of what you said.

9. Deleting your data

You can delete your account in the app under Settings, or from our account deletion page if you have already uninstalled. Deleting it removes your profile, rounds, scores, stats, and any audio still within the retention window. It cannot be undone.

10. Children

Fix Yo Yap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Contact
