Terms of Service

These are the terms for using Fix Yo Yap. Creating an account, or recording a round, means you agree to them.

1. What Fix Yo Yap is

Fix Yo Yap is an impromptu speaking game. You get a topic, you speak into your microphone for up to 45 seconds, and you get a score built from measurable things about how you spoke: your pace, your pauses, how many filler words you used, and more. That score is then matched to one of five yappers, a persona describing your speaking style.

Nothing in that chain is a human or an AI judging you. The score comes first, from a fixed set of thresholds, and the persona is a label read off a number that already exists. It cannot move your score.

We delete raw recordings 7 days after the round on the free plan, and keep them while a Premium subscription is active so you can play any round back. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep after that, and why.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Fix Yo Yap account, the same age we use in our Privacy Policy. You sign in with your email address, and you are responsible for keeping access to that inbox secure and for anything that happens under your account.

3. Acceptable use of the recording feature

Use the recording feature to record your own voice, for use inside the app. Do not use it to record someone else without their knowledge and consent. Do not use the microphone or the app to capture, upload, or transmit unlawful, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit content. Do not try to interfere with, reverse engineer, or abuse the scoring service, including feeding it synthetic or automated audio to inflate a score or a streak. We can suspend or terminate access for any of this.

4. Your display name is public

Your display name appears on the leaderboard, where other players can see it. Pick one that does not impersonate Fix Yo Yap or anyone else and does not contain slurs, harassment, or sexually explicit language. We filter names automatically at the point you set one, and any player can report a name they see on the board. We review every report and can clear a name, reset it, or suspend the account behind it. You can play anonymously instead — Settings hides your name and picture from the board and keeps your score on it.

5. Scores and the persona are entertainment

The score, the breakdown behind it, and the persona are for fun and for tracking your own speaking over time. None of it is a professional, clinical, or medical evaluation of your speech, and Fix Yo Yap is not a speech therapist, a speech-language pathologist, or a communication coach. If you have a genuine concern about your speech or your voice, talk to a qualified professional instead of relying on this app.

6. Free and paid rounds

The free tier gives you three rounds in total, not three a day — once they are used they do not come back. They are scored exactly the same way paid rounds are, and you keep your three most recent rounds of history. Fix Yo Yap Premium removes the limit and unlocks the full metric breakdown and your complete history. We may change what each tier includes as the app changes, and we will update this page when we do.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Fix Yo Yap Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, sold and billed through the App Store or Google Play, whichever you used to install the app. All billing, currency, taxes, and refunds are handled by that store under its own terms. We never see or store your card details, and Fix Yo Yap has no billing system of its own.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel it the same way you bought it, through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, not by contacting us. We cannot cancel or refund a store subscription on your behalf.

8. Account termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, or from our account deletion page if you have already uninstalled. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what deleting your account removes. We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, including the acceptable use rules above.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Fix Yo Yap is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee the app, the scoring service, or any provider it depends on, including our speech recognition sub-processor, will be available, uninterrupted, or error free, or that every recording will produce a score. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fix Yo Yap is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. We will update the date above when we do. Using Fix Yo Yap after a change means you accept the new terms, so check back here occasionally if you want to know what changed.
